Pet of the Month

We’re excited to introduce Toby, our wonderful June Pet of the Month at Mercy Veterinary Hospital!

 

“Hi, my name is Toby! I’m a 1-year-old rescue dog with a big heart and a bigger smile. When my mom told me I was chosen as Pet of the Month, I wasn’t surprised—I’ve had quite the journey! 

 

I had a ruff start in life. When I was about a month old, Summer Pavliska rescued me, my mom, and my five siblings from an abandoned home. I was the last of my pack to be adopted because I had a broken leg at one of my foster homes. It took months to heal, but everything changed when my mom adopted me at 6 months old. 

 

Now I have two cat siblings, and I especially love Mr. V—we snuggle in bed and he always makes me feel loved. I’m a super sweet and friendly pup who loves everyone! I enjoy long walkies, swimming in my neighbor’s pond, and hanging out with other dogs. I even strutted my stuff as the only dog in the Taylor Bird Parade, dressed as a peacock—and yes, I stole the show! 

 

I do deal with separation anxiety, but thanks to the amazing team at Mercy Vet, I’m doing much better. With their help and some medication, I’ve learned to stay calm in my crate for several hours.

 

And a big shoutout to Mercy Pet Resort—when my mom went to Vegas last month, I stayed there for three nights and had an absolute blast! I got to play outside with other dogs at least 8 times a day and the staff was so kind and caring.”

 

 We absolutely love having Toby as our Pet of the Month and having him as part of the Mercy family. His sweet nature, big personality, and resilience have touched all of our hearts.
